SEO Consultant for CBD & Wellness Brands

CBD search splits in two. The shopping half (“cbd gummies”, “full spectrum cbd”) is decided on collection and product pages, and because ad platforms restrict CBD advertising, organic results carry more of that demand. The question half (THC content, drug tests, what the label means) goes to whoever answers plainly with the lab report one click away. I build both, make no health claims, and measure the work in orders.

If your lab reports live only as PDFs behind a QR code, the trust you paid a lab for never reaches Google.

Signs this is what's holding you back

01

Lab reports locked in PDFs

COAs behind a QR code, invisible to Google

A certificate of analysis is the strongest trust signal a CBD brand has. Most stores upload it as a scanned PDF reached only from the code on the bottle, so neither Google nor the shopper on the product page sees the numbers.

02

Claims that sink the page

Health promises in product copy and reviews

Copy that says what CBD treats or relieves invites regulator attention and fails Google's standard for health content (YMYL). I write around what the product is: cannabinoid content, serving size, ingredients and lab results.

03

Paid search mostly closed

Ads restricted, so organic carries the load

Ad platforms restrict CBD, so the paid shortcut other stores rely on is narrow or shut. A brand with nothing built in organic search has no fallback when an ad account gets limited.

04

Spectrum and strength muddled

Full, broad and isolate mixed on one page

One collection lists full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolate products together, strength appears only in the photo, and each variant gets its own URL. Shoppers searching for THC-free or a set strength find nothing that matches.

The Plan

What I'd do for your CBD & wellness business

Six moves, in the order they usually pay back. Each one is a service with its own page if you want the detail.

01E-commerce & Shopify SEO

Build collections by format, spectrum and strength

Oils, gummies and capsules each get a collection, and full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolate get pages of their own where search justifies one. Strength becomes a variant, not a new URL.

Map my CBD collections
02Technical SEO

Turn lab reports into crawlable pages

Each batch's COA gets an HTML page with the cannabinoid results, THC and the lab's name, linked from the product and the QR code. The lab's PDF stays as a download.

Audit my lab pages
03On-Page SEO

Write product pages that state, not promise

Milligrams per bottle and per serving, spectrum, carrier oil, ingredients and the THC line written as text. No health claims, so the page stays within the rules and within Google's health content standard.

Review my product pages
04Content & Copywriting

Answer THC and label questions plainly

“Does CBD have THC” and “does CBD show up on a drug test” draw thousands of searches a month. Honest answers tied to your lab data earn trust that product copy alone can't.

Plan my CBD content
05Topical Maps

Map the catalogue around the label

Format, spectrum, strength and carrier mapped as attributes, so every page has one job and each question guide points to the collection that matches.

Map my CBD store
06Off-Page SEO

Earn links from sources that vet you

Hemp trade bodies, lab partners, stockists and trade press, each checked before outreach. No bulk link lists, which carry extra risk in a restricted category.

Review my backlinks

The pages your CBD & wellness site should own

The structure I'd plan for a brand selling oils and gummies online. Every product page links to its batch's lab page, every question guide links to the products it mentions, and no page promises an effect.

A cannabis retailer with physical stores, not an online-only brand. Organic visitors roughly doubled and search clicks grew more than thirteenfold over the same five months that sales climbed.

The honest part: Small-dollar throughout: sales stayed in the low thousands a month. One month's sales figure differs by $178 between two of the source reports. This is the store-and-map side of cannabis search; an online CBD store adds the product-page and lab-result work described above.

Questions

What people ask before starting

Can SEO work for CBD if Google restricts CBD ads?

Yes. The restrictions sit mostly on advertising. Organic results rank CBD stores and guides like any other site, as long as the pages meet Google's standard for health-adjacent content. That is why organic matters more here than in most retail.

Will you write health claims for our products?

No. I don't write claims about what CBD treats or relieves. Pages state what the product contains, how much per serving and what the lab found. That keeps the copy within the rules and still ranks for what shoppers type.

Should our lab reports be PDFs or web pages?

Both. Keep the PDF the lab issued, and publish its key results as an HTML page per batch: cannabinoids, THC, contaminant panels and the lab's name. Google can read the page, and shoppers can check it without scanning a code.

Do full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolate need separate pages?

Where the search is there, yes. “Cbd isolate” gets 5,600 searches a month in the US and “full spectrum cbd” 5,000. Each gets a page that explains the difference neutrally and lists the products that match.

Want more CBD orders from organic search?

Send me your store and the product lines you want to grow. I'll look at it myself and reply personally, usually within one business day.
