SEO Consultant for Pest Control Companies

Pest control search splits by fear. The urgent half (bed bugs at midnight, a wasp nest by the door) is won on the map, with reviews and a phone that gets answered. The research half (signs of termites, treatment costs, what a brown recluse looks like) is won by pages for each pest that route the reader to an inspection. I build both, and measure them in booked inspections and recurring plans.

If one “services” page lists every pest you treat, Google has no page to rank for any of them.

Signs this is what's holding you back

01

One page for every pest

Termites, bed bugs and rodents on a single services page

A homeowner with bed bugs and one with termites type different words, fear different things and need a different answer. One page listing both ranks for neither, so the searches go to the company with a page per pest.

02

Late to the season

Pest pages published the week the calls start

Termite swarmers, wasps and mosquitoes arrive with the warm months, and rodents move indoors when it cools. Pages written once the phone is already busy go live after the searches they were meant to catch.

03

Service-area gaps

Visible in the home town, missing one town over

Your trucks cover a dozen towns, but the map pack favours the address on your profile. Without a page and reviews that name each outer town, the calls from there go to whoever is based closer.

04

Calls without contracts

Leads tracked, inspections and recurring plans not

The SEO report counts calls. Nobody checks which of them became a booked inspection or a quarterly plan, so a page that brings one-off spray calls looks as good as one that sells annual contracts.

The Plan

What I'd do for your pest control business

Six moves, in the order they usually pay back. Each one is a service with its own page if you want the detail.

01Local SEO

Win the map pack across your service area

Urgent pest searches end on the map. Profile categories for each pest you treat, matching details on every directory, and reviews that name the pest and the town.

Audit my map presence
02Topical Maps

Plan the site as pest × city

Termites, bed bugs, rodents, roaches, ants, wasps, mosquitoes and spiders each get their own page, then city versions only where that area brings enough calls to justify one.

Map my pest control site
03Content & Copywriting

Write the signs and costs, then route them

“Signs of termites” and “signs of bed bugs” bring the traffic. Each guide shows what the homeowner found, says when it needs a professional, and links to the inspection page.

Plan my pest content
04On-Page SEO

Make the recurring plan a page that sells

Quarterly and annual plans are where the steady revenue is. The plan page states what each visit covers, which pests are included and how pricing works.

Review my plan pages
05Technical SEO

Merge overlapping pest and city pages

Old location pages, ad landing pages and near-copies of the same pest page split the ranking. One strong URL per pest and place, with the losers redirected into it.

Find my duplicate pages
06Off-Page SEO

Earn links that fit a local exterminator

Real estate offices that order termite inspections, property managers, state pest control associations and local news on seasonal pests. Each one checked before outreach.

How I'd Start

How I'd start on your pest control site

I don't have a published case in this industry yet, so here is the plan rather than borrowed results.

  1. Days 1–30

Audit the map and the index

I pull 16 months of Search Console data, check every listing's name, address and phone, and list which pests and towns already bring clicks. My pest control work on record began with this same re-audit.

  2. Days 31–60

Give each pest its own page

Termites, bed bugs, rodents and the rest get a treatment page each, with a signs guide and a cost guide feeding them. Pests with the next season's searches go live soonest.

  3. Days 61–90

    Build out the service area

City pages only for the towns that justify one, a review routine that names the pest and the town, and matching details on the directories homeowners use.

  4. Every month

    Report inspections, not visits

Organic calls and forms reconciled against booked inspections and recurring plans where your call tracking allows it, so we can see which pages sell contracts.

Work Across Trades?

If you do more than one thing

Trade Terms, Plain English

The words you'll hear, and what they mean

The trade and SEO terms that come up in pest control work, so a report never reads like a foreign language.

WDO inspection
Wood-destroying organism inspection: the termite report lenders and buyers often ask for before a sale.
Termite bond
A renewable contract that covers re-treatment, and sometimes repairs, if termites come back.
Exclusion
Sealing the gaps rodents and insects get in through, rather than only trapping or spraying.
IPM
Integrated pest management: inspect, remove what attracts pests, then treat only what's needed.
Service-area business
A business that travels to customers. Google ranks it on the map from its verified address.
Recurring plan
Scheduled visits (often quarterly) that renew the perimeter treatment. The steady revenue line.

Questions

What people ask before starting

Have you done SEO for pest control companies?

Yes. Pest control is one of the home-service niches I've worked in: a three-month plan and a Search Console re-audit are on my record. That account has only one month of results so far, which is too short to publish as a case study.

Do we need a page for every pest we treat?

For every pest people search for on their own, yes. “Termite treatment” gets 48,000 searches a month in the US and “bed bug treatment” 24,000, from different people with different worries. Minor pests can share a page.

Can SEO sell recurring plans, or only one-off treatments?

Both, from different pages. Urgent calls come from the map and the pest pages. Plans sell from a page that says what each visit covers and what it costs, linked from every treatment page.

We cover a dozen towns from one office. Can we rank in all of them?

On the map, the towns near your verified address are easiest. Further out, a page for each town that justifies one, plus reviews that mention the town, carry the organic results. I'll tell you which towns are worth a page.

Want more booked pest inspections from Google?

Send me your site and the areas you serve. I'll look at it myself and reply personally, usually within one business day.
