SEO Consultant for Property Managers

Two audiences search here. Tenants look for a place (“apartments for rent near me”, 190,000 a month) or a portal login. Owners look for a manager: “property management near me”, and what managers charge. The money is on the owner side, and most manager sites rank for the tenant half. I build the owner pages, the map listing and the landlord guides, and measure them in owner inquiries.

If your traffic is mostly residents looking for the portal login, Google sees a leasing site, not a company owners hire.

Signs this is what's holding you back

01

Tenant traffic, owner silence

Visits from residents, no calls from owners

Portal logins, pay-rent pages and vacancy listings bring most of the visits on a manager's site. They look good in a traffic report, but owners are the ones who sign management agreements, and none of those visits came from one.

02

Fees behind a form

Pricing hidden until an owner calls

“How much do property managers charge” gets 3,400 searches a month in the US. A site that answers with “contact us for a quote” sends that owner to the manager who states a range and says what the fee covers.

03

Tenant-review drag

A profile shaped by residents, read by owners

Residents leave most of the reviews, often about deposits and slow repairs. Owners read every one of them before they call. Unanswered complaints and no owner reviews decide the comparison for you.

04

One town on the map

Doors in six towns, visible in one

You manage rentals across a county, but the map pack favours the address on your profile. Without a page and reviews that name each area you manage in, owners there find whoever is based closer.

The Plan

What I'd do for your property management business

Six moves, in the order they usually pay back. Each one is a service with its own page if you want the detail.

01Local SEO

Win the map for owner searches

“Property management near me” gets 5,400 searches a month. Profile categories for the management types you offer, replies to every tenant review, and a steady ask for owner reviews.

Audit my manager listing
02On-Page SEO

Publish your fees and what they cover

Owners compare managers on price before they call. A fees page with the management fee, leasing fee and what each includes answers the 3,400 monthly “how much” searches directly.

Review my fees page
03Topical Maps

Split the site into owners and residents

Owner services, pricing and areas on one side; portal, rent payment and requests on the other. Resident pages stop crowding out the pages owners need to find.

Map my management site
04Content & Copywriting

Write the landlord guides that lead to hiring

Screening, leases, notices and eviction. Each guide moves the reader toward the service and pricing pages, never back, because an eviction question is often the moment an owner decides to hand over.

Plan my landlord content
05Technical SEO

Keep listings and the portal in their lane

Leased units come off the index or redirect to the building page, the portal login gets one clear URL, and vendor subdomains stop competing with your own pages.

Check my site setup
06Off-Page SEO

Earn links from the local rental market

Real estate offices that refer investors, landlord associations, local news on rent and housing. Each one checked before outreach. No bulk directory submissions.

The pages your property management site should own

The structure I'd plan for a residential manager. Owner pages and resident pages sit apart, and every landlord guide links forward to a service or pricing page, the rule I use for internal links in this niche.

How I'd Start

How I'd start on your property management site

I don't have a published case in this industry yet, so here is the plan rather than borrowed results.

  1. Days 1–30

Split owner searches from tenant searches

I sort the site's Search Console queries into owner and resident, check the profile, categories and reviews, and list which pages owners actually land on. You see how much of the traffic could ever hire you.

  2. Days 31–60

    Build the pages owners need

A fees page, a page for each management service, a sample owner statement and one page per area you manage in, starting with the areas where you already have doors.

  3. Days 61–90

Write the landlord guides and fix the map

Screening, lease and eviction guides that route to the service pages, replies to open tenant reviews, and a routine for asking owners to review you.

  4. Day 90

Report in owner inquiries, not visits

Which pages produced owner calls and forms, split from resident traffic. The next quarter's areas and guides get chosen from that.

Work Across Trades?

If you do more than one thing

Trade Terms, Plain English

The words you'll hear, and what they mean

The trade and SEO terms that come up in property management work, so a report never reads like a foreign language.

Doors
The number of rental units a manager looks after. The usual measure of a management company's size.
Management fee
What the manager charges each month, often a percentage of the rent collected.
Tenant placement
A leasing-only service: market, screen and sign a tenant, then hand the unit back to the owner.
Owner statement
The monthly report of rent collected, expenses paid and money sent to the owner.
Work order
A logged maintenance request, from the tenant's report to the finished repair.
Make-ready
The cleaning, repairs and paint that get a vacant unit ready for the next tenant.

Questions

What people ask before starting

Should our site target tenants or owners?

Both, on separate pages. Residents need the portal, rent payment and available units. Owners are the ones who sign management agreements, so the fees, services and area pages get the attention, and resident pages stop crowding them out.

Have you done SEO for property management companies?

Yes. Real estate and property management are niches I've worked in, and the landlord journey from screening through eviction to hiring a manager is the content plan I'd start from. I don't have a case I'm ready to publish with numbers, so this page shows the plan instead.

Should we publish our management fees?

I'd publish a range and what it covers. “How much do property managers charge” gets 3,400 searches a month in the US. The owner asking it will call someone who answers, and a clear fees page is the answer Google can rank.

How do you measure SEO for a property manager?

By owner inquiries from organic search and the map, kept apart from resident traffic. Rankings and visits go in the report, but the monthly question is how many owners asked about management, and from which pages.

Want more owner inquiries from Google?

Send me your site and the areas you serve. I'll look at it myself and reply personally, usually within one business day.
