SEO Consultant for HVAC Companies

HVAC search follows the weather. When the heat or the cold arrives, “ac repair near me” and “furnace repair near me” spike and the map pack decides who gets the call. Between the spikes, homeowners research replacement costs, heat pumps and SEER ratings for weeks, and that content decides who installs the next system. I build for both seasons and measure them in booked jobs.

If the phone rings in July and goes quiet in October, the site answers the breakdown and misses the replacement buyer.

Signs this is what's holding you back

01

Duplicate city URLs

One town split across two to four competing pages

On one HVAC account, 9 city pages each existed in 2 to 4 versions. One city spread 80,563 impressions across 2 pages and earned 10 clicks. In the latest month, clicks fell about 37%.

02

Broken address schema

Markup that tells Google the wrong thing about you

A live sweep of one HVAC site's 263 URLs found postal-address schema defects on 209 of them, and the brand name misspelled 118 times on a single page. Nobody had looked because nothing looked broken.

03

NAP drift

Name, address and phone that disagree across the web

The same audit found inconsistent details across about 60 citations. In a heatwave the map pack picks who gets the call, and mismatched listings give Google a reason to pick a competitor.

04

Weather gets the credit

Calls jump with the season, reports show visits

July and January look busy in the SEO report and in dispatch, but nobody can say which pages produced the booked jobs in ServiceTitan or which calls CallTrackerFX tied to organic.

The Plan

What I'd do for your HVAC business

Six moves, in the order they usually pay back. Each one is a service with its own page if you want the detail.

01Local SEO

Win the map pack before the heatwave

Emergency AC and furnace searches are decided on the map. Categories, matching details on every citation, and reviews that name the job and the town, built before the season arrives.

Audit my map presence
02Technical SEO

Collapse duplicate city URLs into one

Pick the strongest version for each city, redirect the rest and repoint the internal links, so the impressions a town already earns stop splitting across two to four pages.

Find my duplicate city pages
03Topical Maps

Plan the site as service × city × season

AC repair, furnace repair, heat pumps, mini splits, duct cleaning and tune-ups each get a page, then city pages only where the area earns one.

Map my HVAC site
04Content & Copywriting

Own the repair-or-replace decision

Replacement cost, heat pump versus furnace and SEER questions are where install jobs start. Each guide ends on the install page and the estimate form, not on another article.

Plan my HVAC content
05On-Page SEO

Fix schema and details on every page

Postal address markup, brand spelling and service areas, checked page by page and fixed in bulk, with scenario playbooks a developer can follow without reading the whole audit.

Check my HVAC schema
06Off-Page SEO

Earn links every month, not in bursts

Local associations, trade suppliers and community sites, qualified one by one. On one HVAC account, steady monthly link work took Domain Rating from 10 to 38.

This plumbing and HVAC company gained referring domains and backlinks in every month reported, and its Domain Rating climbed from 10 to 38. In one of the months with complete Search Console and GA4 data, new users rose 47% and organic traffic roughly tripled.

The honest part: The two most recent monthly reports cover keyword positions and technical health only, not traffic totals, so the current trend is unconfirmed. A tripling in one month is large enough that I'd check it wasn't a tracking or attribution change before calling it organic growth.

Questions

What people ask before starting

Does HVAC SEO matter when the busy season fills the schedule anyway?

The busy season fills everyone's schedule. SEO decides who gets the shoulder-season work: tune-ups, replacements and heat pump installs, the jobs people research for weeks before they call.

Should heating and cooling have separate pages?

Yes. “ac repair near me” and “furnace repair near me” are different searches with different seasons, and one combined page ranks worse for both. Each service gets its own page, then city pages where the area earns one.

We have several pages for the same city. Is that a problem?

Usually. When two or more of your URLs target one town, Google splits the impressions between them. On one HVAC account, one city spread 80,563 impressions across 2 pages for 10 clicks. I keep the strongest page and redirect the rest.

Can you tie SEO to booked jobs in ServiceTitan?

Where the data allows, yes. I reconcile organic calls and forms from your call tracking, CallTrackerFX for example, against booked jobs in ServiceTitan, so the report shows jobs, not only rankings.
