SEO Consultant for Digital Marketing Agencies

Agency search splits two ways. Clients looking nearby type “digital marketing agency near me” (24,000 searches a month) and the map decides. Clients who know what they need search by service or niche, like “healthcare marketing agency”, then read case studies and prices before they call. I build the agency's own pages for both, and measure them in qualified enquiries.

If client sites rank and yours doesn't, the agency's own pages are the ones nobody has had time to build.

Signs this is what's holding you back

01

The cobbler's children

Client sites rank, the agency's own site doesn't

Client work always comes before the agency's own site. It ends up with a homepage, one services page and a blog last touched two years ago, while a rival with thinner work outranks you for “web design agency” in your own city.

02

One page for every service

SEO, PPC, web design and social on a single URL

A buyer searching “ppc agency” and one searching “web design agency” want different proof and different prices. When both land on one services page, it ranks weakly for each and reads like a menu, not a specialist.

03

Proof locked in PDFs

Case studies that live in proposals, not on pages

The strongest sales asset is buried inside a proposal deck. With no page per case study, named by service and niche, nobody searching “seo case study” or “dental marketing agency” ever sees the work.

04

The referral ceiling

Growth stops where the network ends

Referrals bring whatever niche the last happy client knew, at whatever budget they had. Search is how an agency picks the service and the niche it wants more of, instead of taking what arrives.

The Plan

What I'd do for your digital marketing business

Six moves, in the order they usually pay back. Each one is a service with its own page if you want the detail.

01Topical Maps

Map the site as service × niche × city

Each service you sell gets a page, each niche you have work for gets a page, and city pages exist only where you actually take clients. The internal links run toward the pages that start a proposal.

Map my agency site
02On-Page SEO

Give every service its own page

Scope, process, typical budgets, who it suits and the case studies that prove it. Web design, PPC, SEO and social each get a page a buyer can shortlist from.

Review my service pages
03Content & Copywriting

Turn case studies into pages that rank

One page per case, titled by service and niche, with the numbers the client signed off. Each links to the niche page and the service it proves.

Plan my case study pages
04Local SEO

Win the map for “agency near me”

“Marketing agency near me” gets 16,000 searches a month. Profile categories set per service, matching details on every directory, and reviews that name the work and the result.

Audit my map presence
05Off-Page SEO

Earn links an agency can defend

Partner and platform directories, podcasts and events you speak at, and original data from your own anonymised client work. Each checked before outreach, nothing bought in bulk.

Review my backlinks
06Traffic Recovery

Bring me in on client work, under your brand or mine

White-label: audits, plans and reports go out as your agency's work. Or I work as a named consultant when a client's traffic drops or a migration goes wrong: Search Console forensics and a fix list your team can ship.

The pages your digital marketing site should own

The structure I'd give an agency's own site. Buyer guides link to pricing, case studies link to the service and niche they prove, and city pages exist only where the agency actually takes clients.

How I'd Start

How I'd start on your digital marketing site

I don't have a published case in this industry yet, so here is the plan rather than borrowed results.

  1. Days 1–30

Audit the agency's own site and listing

I crawl the site, check which searches each service page actually ranks for, and review the map profile, reviews and directory listings. You get a short list of what holds the site back.

  2. Days 31–60

Pick the services and niches to grow

We agree which services and client types you want more of. Each gets its own page with scope, process, typical budgets and the work that proves it.

  3. Days 61–90

    Turn the proof into pages

Case studies move out of proposal decks onto their own URLs, reviews get requested by service, and a pricing guide goes live that routes to the proposal request.

  4. Day 90

    Report in enquiries, not visits

Which pages produced proposal requests and calls, by service and niche. The next quarter's pages get chosen from that, not from traffic alone.

Work Across Trades?

If you do more than one thing

Trade Terms, Plain English

The words you'll hear, and what they mean

The trade and SEO terms that come up in digital marketing work, so a report never reads like a foreign language.

Retainer
A monthly fee for ongoing work, usually on a minimum term.
Scope creep
Work added to an engagement without a matching change in fee or timeline.
Niche landing page
A page for one client type, like “marketing for dentists”, with work from that niche.
Case study page
One client story on its own URL, named by service and niche, with numbers the client approved.
Topical map
The plan of every page a site should own on a subject, and how those pages link.
Churn
Clients who leave at renewal. The number that decides whether new leads mean growth.

Questions

What people ask before starting

Do you offer white-label SEO for agencies?

Yes. Audits, plans and reports can go out under your agency's brand, with your team as the client's contact. If you'd rather bring me in by name on a hard problem, such as an audit, a migration or a traffic drop, that works too.

Have you done SEO for agencies before?

Yes. Agencies, including web development agencies, are among the niches I've worked in. I don't have an agency case I'm ready to publish with numbers, so this page shows the plan I'd follow in the opening 90 days.

Should an agency have a page for every niche it serves?

Only for niches where you have work to show. “Healthcare marketing agency” gets 7,300 searches a month and “dental marketing agency” 2,500, but a niche page with no case study rarely ranks and rarely convinces.

Should we publish our prices?

Ranges, at least. The search “seo pricing” gets 4,800 searches a month and “digital marketing agency pricing” 800. Buyers price agencies before they call, and a page with ranges and what drives them filters out mismatched enquiries.

Want more agency clients from Google?

Send me your site and the services and niches you want to sell more of. I'll look at it myself and reply personally, usually within one business day.
